Mario's Run is a minigame Hello submitted for Minigame Competition #27. In this game, Mario is constantly in motion and can't directly be controlled by the player. However, you can drop blocks, bricks, and springboards - or delete them - to move Mario or defeat enemies. Players must be careful, though, because dropping something on Mario ends the game. An MP3 of the Super Mario Bros. 3 "athletic" music cycles through during gameplay. All of the graphics come from SMB 3. There is only one level, but it's pretty difficult. The game keeps track of high scores, and points can be obtained by collecting coins and squashing enemies with blocks or bricks.
Reception
Mario's Run has three reviews for it, and the average score is 7.0. The reviews and comments were united in proclaiming this game was too hard and too fast, but innovative and unique. As with Yoshi Click and Go, play begins as soon as the game loads, and there is no introduction or title screen.
Remake
In 2009, Hello remade the game as part of Hello Winter Mario Games 2009 using modified controls and icy graphics.
