Mario's Journey was Hello's first game to be on MFGG, released in summer 2006, and uses a lightly modified version of the then-common Trisoft Engine. Most of the game play pays tribute to Super Mario Bros. 3. The game is high in the glitch department; for example, Super Mario shrinks to small size every time the game changes rooms, and there are places where one can get stuck. Players also have unlimited lives. While some reviewers found the levels repetitive or boring, others thought the game had great potential and only needed a little more refining in order to become a fine title. Mario's Journey is one of the Hello games that do not use Black Squirrel's tilesets and sprites. It is also one of the few fangames to maintain the default Game Maker icon.
