Super Mario Subpop is a minigame Hello created for Minigame Competition #33. Players control Mario in a submarine, moving up and down to avoid obstacles. Players press SPACE to shoot torpedoes to destroy blocks and defeat Cheep-Cheeps and (misspelled) Porcu-Puffers. The game bears some resemblance to Little Cheep's Coin Chase. The background music comes from Super Mario Galaxy's Beach Bowl Galaxy level.

Story

Mario went on an underwater exploration tour in his submarine, but he got lost and can't find his way back. The player must guide Mario through assorted underwater dangers. Unfortunately, because the rooms loop endlessly and randomly, completing the game is impossible; the only objective is to earn the most points by collecting the most coins and defeating the most enemies.

Reception

Super Mario Subpop is a fairly simple minigame, and some players found it fun and addictive. Others complained about the iffy collisions and that touching a block or enemy instantly ends the game. mariobro27 provided the only review for the game, giving the game a 5 out of 10 score, saying, "If you're into simple time-wasters, this is probably the best one. If not, steer clear of this game."
