The original video's title card.

MFGG Subliminal is a series of unusual image-based videos created by Nnnk. Each video features hundreds of MFGG's most memorable current images in rapid succession, accompanied by music. The first was created on March 25th, 2007 and included the song Scatman by Scatman John. It spawned three highly similar sequels.

Sequels

The video's first sequel, MFGG Subliminal 2: Stare Into It, was released only four days later, this time featuring the song 'Bigger Better Faster Stronger' by Daft Punk. It is also the only one in the series to include a post-credits scene.

The next entry into the series, subtitled 3rd Goddamn Time is the Charm, was formally released over a year later on May 26th, 2008. This was in part due to various complications in development. Originally having the tagline 'SublimiNation', two versions were begun, but the first was lost in a virus attack, and the second deleted in fear of the same. Months later, a third was completed, but was angrily deleted after a saving error. Concluding that his song choice, 'Becoming Insane' by Infected Mushroom, was the source of his bad luck, Nnnk changed it to 'King Dedede's Theme' from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It seemed to work; the final video was uploaded on May 17th, 2008, and though it was mistakenly posted to a private server, it saw a public release within the month.

Yet another video was made, known as MFGG Subliminal 5-1 (referring to both the Super Mario Bros level 5-1 and the number 4). The chosen song was 'All My Best Friends Are Metalheads' by Less Than Jake.

Trivia:

  • Beta versions of each video were released to affiliates of Nnnk's for review.
  • For each video, request topics were set up so MFGGers could get their images into the movie.
  • The third and fourth videos were originally released under the unrelated names of "this definitely isn't what it looks like" and "Lucas Sings the National Anthem", respectively.
  • The original video has since been removed due to a copyright claim from Danmark Music Group.
