COSINE (previously XMODEL) is a planned open-source engine for MMF2, using Lua for game logic. It will be designed for quick development and modularity for easy expansion.
Unlike most engines, it will be heavily commented. Also unlike most engines, it will include very few premade objects, instead requiring users to actually implement things themselves as appropriate to the game they are working on. Strictly, it is not a "Mario" engine, but it will be presented similarly to one.
