Super Mario Bros. World 2 is (as you may have guessed) an extremely poorly made fangame created for humorous purposes by Genogenesis7. It is a mock sequel to Super Mario Bros. World, Geno's first fangame ever created. Although the game wasn't really found all that funny, Genogenesis7 still regards it as an important decision and a learning experience.

Origins

One day, Genogenesis7 was browsing archives of the taloncrossing MFGG forums for nostalgic purposes when he came across some old topics that he had written a long time ago. Coming across the infamous Super Mario Bros. World article, he found his own behavior in these posts to be so arrogant and "n00bish" that he decided to parody himself and create a satirical sequel to the game. Genogenesis7 decided to use the Hello Super Mario Bros. Engine (like in the previous game) and make the game as flat-out terrible as possible.

Gameplay

The game uses the Hello Super Mario Bros. Engine, as such, the collision is slightly bad. Mario has pretty much all of the abilities that he had in Super Mario Bros. The game also has several annoying glitches, such as the fact that the music from the previous level doesn't stop when you enter a new level unless you die.

There are only 4 levels in the entire game, with most being very short.

Green Grass Land - A generic grassy level with a terribly drawn MS paint background. The background music is Mario's Big Adventure by the Aya & Nakayoshi Pep Squad.

Waterfall Mushroom Platform Hard Jumping Land - A level taking place at night in a place with waterfalls. Yet another one with a terribly drawn background. The player must make several tedious jumps in a floating platform-infested area. The music is the special stage music from the Sega Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast.

Familiar Land - The only level without a badly-drawn background, as it just uses the background from the engine itself. This is just the example level that came with the engine, set to No Doubt's Spiderwebs.

Bowser's Castle Land - A level taking place inside Bowser's Castle. The background is a bad MS paint drawing of a grey wall with a painting of a Pikachu-esque creature hung up on it. The level itself is simply a flat, obstacleless, enemyless trek to a floating Yoshi's Cookie-styled Princess Peach sprite. Upon touching the sprite, Mario is given the end of the game. The background music is Koopa's Counting Song by the Aya & Nakayoshi Pep Squad.

Upon beating the game, the player is simply presented with a horrible picture of Peach talking to Mario. ("OMG Mario Thx 4 rescueing me! U are a hero and stuff! Now go home. LOL") A screen then shows a blurb of text expressing how surprised the creator is that you have successfully completed the game "without being annoyed to death", and then presents you with a The End screen and a picture of the Genoduck alongside a silly Cookie Monster voice clip.
