Mario Paint is a fangame created by MugenMidget, inspired by the SNES game of the same name. However, it shares more in common with Microsoft Paint than it does with Nintendo's Mario Paint.

Overview

The control is very similar to Microsoft Paint in that you click on brushes and shapes for drawing. However, the program also has stamps, which are a rollover from the SNES game. Unlike the SNES game, you use the arrow keys to move a stamp and Shift to place it. You also have only 10 stamps here. Strangely, Escape does not close the game: you must use Alt+F4 or use the "Quit" button(which was removed from the 2003 version.)

Stamp List

2003 Version

A screenshot of the 2003 version.

On September 27, 2003, this fangame was uploaded to the current main site, under the name MugenMidget's Mario Paint. Unlike the original version, however, this version has even less features. The changes are as follows:

  • The background and buttons are now plain.
  • the Luigi stamp immediately changes to the Baby Yoshi stamp a split-second after its selected.
  • the stop music option is gone.
  • there is no longer a Maio hand cursor.
  • The clear and quit buttons are gone.
