Mushroom Kingdom Fusion (formerly Super Mario Fusion: Mushroom Kingdom Hearts) is a Mario fangame created by JudgeSpear. It is a crossover game featuring the elements of Sonic, Halo, Megaman, and many other franchises.

History

Mario in a Halo themed level

Inspired by Super Mario Land 2, JudgeSpear always had a dream to make a Mario game. In 2000, Mushroom Kingdom Fusion started out as Super Mario MF, made in Multimedia Fusion 1.2 Build 98. However the many glitches caused it to be scrapped.

Years later, JudgeSpear discovered Game Maker and Hello Engine, and Super Mario Fusion was born. He then put a video of one of his finished levels on Youtube and Mushroom Kingdom Fusion became an instant hit. The project achieved internet fame with mentions on Joystiq, Kotaku, and Destructoid.

The name was changed after the addition of other characters, since it is not entirely Mario-based.

Game Features

Mario in the Tower of Babel
  • An overall dark atmosphere of the game.
  • Modified Mario-style gameplay, with SMB2 mechanics (veggie pulling, Subcon enemies) and guns.
  • A roster of playable characters, both from within the Mario universe and outside of the Mario universe. Each character will have their own unique powerup system and gameplay mechanics, adapted to fit within the Mario-based gameplay. Has a roster of at least 10 characters and a few secret ones as well
  • Extremely variable worlds and levels. Game worlds will feature a traditional Mario world at the beginning. Later worlds will be based off other video games. Other worlds will feature completely original levels. The plot centers around the Mario universe, with stories extending out to other video game universes and even an alternate version of our Earth.
