Super Hyper Paper Deluxe Mario Bros. Galaxy World Land 4 4 is the newest game in the SHPDMBGWL4 series by Black Squirrel. It is likely to be the last "main" game and is planned to actually have a decent ending this time. It is also due to be the most polished, with MP3 music and engines not totally reliant on TGF's platform movement.
SHPDMBGWL4 4 is supposed to take place seven years after the events of SHPDMBGWL4 3 EX. After years of following Quackers around and achieving nothing, the main characters from the prequels have gone their separate ways. Some have gone on adventures of their own, some have retired and some have "died due to suckage". As such, each character in the game has their own story.
Returning characters include the ever persistent Quackers the Duck in his attempts to beat Space Korea, Player 1, who is out to rescue Donley Kong from the clutches of Space Korea because nobody else cares, and the Alphabet Man, who has wound up taking Mega Man's job as "the gimped blue guy that beats other robots". Snake Logan, the main character from the DOS game "Bio Menace" is also a main character this time around, defending DOS games from the clutches of Space Korea with the help of an annoyed Commander Keen, who, after all these years of neglect, has become very anti-social and seems to hate everyone.
Seven years of time conflict between Quackers and Space Korea has resulted in the Space Time Continuum being on the brink of collapse. Knowing that Space Korea cannot be stopped easily, Count (Jengo) Fett has turned his attention to stopping Quackers, and is now aided by Hitler II's old "star bird" team. Hitler II has gone solo, becoming an experienced time traveller himself, but at the cost of serious damage to his health. Pokey from the Mother series is planned on making an appearance, after Space Korea manage to open the absolutely safe capsule used at the end of Mother 3.
Like the previous titles, SHPDBMGWL4 4 is due to be Stop 'n' Swop compatible. It will also probably be making up for cancelled projects such as SHPDMBGWL4: BanjoSonic edition. However SHDPBMGWL4 4's release could be a while - though Black Squirrel expects a release in 2009 it may not come at all due to the amount of work that needs to be done and the likely huge download caused at the end.
