macOS, formerly known as Mac OS X, is series of operating systems developed by Apple Inc. Based on the Unix-based Darwin, Mac OS X was the successor of the previous operating system, Mac OS 9. Not a lot of MFGGers use macOS due to lack of support for the popular game developing tools on MFGG - Game Maker and Multimedia Fusion. In 2010, however, YoYo Games announced a Mac version of Game Maker and it was available for sale. Unfortunately, Game Maker for Mac was discontinued along with Game Maker 8. Unlike the most popular operating system - Windows, macOS is very simple and user friendly and rather more professional. macOS is very well known for being more stable and being "virus-free", however, adware on the Mac is starting to pop up in recent years.

Versions

The most recent version of macOS is 10.11 El Capitan. However, in June 2016, Apple announced macOS Sierra, promising better integration between the OS and iOS phones and tablets.
