If this thread reaches X posts

If this thread reaches X posts is a fad that emerged in May 2007. If the thread created hits a certain number of posts, then the user will do what was said in the topic post.

Notable examples:

• FuPoo said he would draw everyone if his thread hit 1,500 posts. When it did hit 1,500, however, he changed it to 5,000, and people wonder if he will uphold his end of the bargain. The MFGGers eventually reached it on May 22nd, 2007.
• Techokami said he would change to Windows Vista if his thread hit 2,000 posts by May 20th. He then prematurely cut the target postcount short to under the post total at the time, thereby affirming the thread's success.

This topic has appeared many other times as well, particularly right before the opening of the phpBB forums.
