Hunter of The Dead is a fangame by Willsaber. It's his entry for the Minigame category of King Boo's Halloween Spooktacular, and tied for second place. It is inspired by a classic minigame called "Boo Hunt", which is from the Nintendo DS game, Super Mario 64 DS.
Gameplay
The player uses the mouse to wipe out the black darkness, and tries to reveal all of the ghosts before time runs out. At first, Luigi only has a basic flashlight, but will receive two more weapons in the later levels. The first weapon he'll receive is the Light Grenade, which leaves a circle that wipes out the darkness inside the circle. The second weapon to be received, is the Hyper Flashlight, which can wipe out the darkness more quickly than the basic one, but, while making ghosts visible, will not harm most of them.
In every level, before the darkness appears, there is a conversation on the sides of the level border, which play out the story of the game.
Enemies
There are different ghosts, all of which behave differently, but have the same movement patterns.
- Boo - Once fully revealed, will lose.
- Orange Ghost - Must be fully revealed two times to lose.
- Dark Boo - Must be fully revealed three time to lose.
- Boo Block - After being fully revealed, turns into a block which must be broken with the Hyper Flashlight.
- Bomb Boo - After being hit with the Hyper Flashlight, explodes, revealing the nearby area.

Reception
The game didn't get any votes during the voting phase of King Boo's Halloween Spooktacular, and it received but one negative review at the main site. While it praised that there are almost no bugs, it criticized the speed of the cursor and found the third weapon isn't that helpful.
