A Vector image is a two-dimentional image much like a sprite, however relies on calculated co-ordinates rather than pixels. Vectors are used in programs such as Flash and can easily be resized and moved without pixelation or any other distortion.

A common vector image format is SVG, which is XML-based and widely supported in vector-image editors, and in most internet browsers.
