Member History

A member who came to the boards in September 2005 looking for some Hooktail sprites (which he never found). He was soon incorrectly labelled emo by many and the joke was carried on for a while by Medaforcer. Later, he was said to be "one of the cool newbs" by Kitsune Yamato and on April 20, 2006, he was dubbed a regular member by Medaforcer: "Heck your [sic] a great member. I dub thee a regular member."

His first post was in the "Three T's" sprite competition. It was a SMB3 Toad sprite badly recolored to look like Toadsworth. Since then, his spriting skills have drastically improved... He's still not great, but he's half-way decent with his own style.

He's sort of popular, though not for any particular reason. He's active at other forums including Kannagi Stadium and MFGGU.

The Character

The character Tragic was created when Chris was designing an album cover for his band, Anemic Royalty. He drew a skinny boy with greenish skin and a crown. He was crying because he was about to be drowned in a cup of tea (which is an homage to Nirvana's song "Pennyroyal Tea"). There were originally two characters, a boy and a girl, but the girl characater never came to fruition.

When he joined MFGG, he picked a random word as his username. When he saw that people had their own characters as their avatars, he quickly sprited a bust of his character. He later got a scanner and used it to post drawn pictures, which Chris is better with. Later, he named the character Tragic after his username.

When trying to write a story, he named one of the characters Aric de Lioncourt. When he came to a pivotal point in the story (where the main character dies) he couldn't part with Aric, so he had him resurrected as Tragic. He lost his memory and wanders around in the desert in search of meaning.

In May of 2006, he redesigned his character as a vampire to fit better into his story. The change was also spurred by the numerous "OMG emo" comments every time a picture of Tragic was posted. The new character is basically the same, but with blue eyes, pale white skin, and clothes. The general reception from MFGG was "Looks cool, but the emo one was better/more original."

As of November, 2006, Aric de Lioncourt and Tragic are two separate characters.

In August of 2007, Aric de Lioncourt was renamed Aric Sangfleur du Nacht.

Addition to Site and Forum Staff

On December 30, 2006, the administration of MFGG opened up new staff positions on the main site. Needed were Comment Moderators and a new Quality Controller. Tragic submitted his application that day, and was hired as a Comment Moderator on January 28, 2007. Kitsune Yamato was chosen as the other Comment Mod and Admiral Delmore was selected as the new Quality Controller.

On June 22, 2007, he was added to the forum staff as well. He moderated the PPP until November 14, 2007 when he was promoted to Global Moderator.

On January 26, 2008, he was promoted to Administrator following the resignation of Klobber. Captain Jeff Silvers was also upgraded.

On May 28, 2008, he announced that he would step down from Administrator back down to Global Mod. He hired Black Squirrel as Admin to replace himself.

Zombie Week

Tragic was very active in the early days of Zombie Week '07. He was a member of the Corpse Corps, an elite group of zombie spammers.

Other

Chris is very interested in the indie sub-culture. Indie/folk/Baroque pop bands like Sufjan Stevens, Pedro the Lion, Andrew Bird, Brendan Moss, and The Shins are his favorite artists. Small budget films are also an area of great interest, though he, regretably, hasn't seen very many.
