Thunder Dragon: Owner, founder, friend. Or something.

Thunder Dragon, ThunderDragon, TD, My Lord, Master... whatever you call him, we all know one thing: he was the man who made MFGG possible. If it weren't for him, there would be no MFGG... there would be MFGHQ or something along the lines of that. Sure, there would still be a site dedicated to Super Mario Bros. homebrew games even if TD didn't exist, but you got to hand it to him - Mario Fan Games Galaxy. Seriously, you wouldn't believe the number of children who wanted to create fan game sites titled "(video game series) Fan Games HQ."

Bowser Tech

TD first entered the world of wide webs in the late 1990's with his website, "Bowser Technologies." There, he displayed many of his shoddily-crafted fanmade games, including Wario's Revenge, MarioQuest, and Bowser Blast, which were actually considered decent for their time. TD maintained Bowser Technologies in his spare time, until updates began to diminish (due to real life issues as well as the lack of new content). Surprisingly, Bowser Technologies did receive a fair amount of traffic, although TD would soon abandon this site, and point his viewers to his new site, Mario Fan Games Galaxy.

MFGG's not-so-grand opening

Upon its opening in July of 2001, all seemed to be going smoothly for MFGG at first. That was, until the webmaster of the seemingly defunct Mario Fan Games Central, stepped in. The webmaster accused TD of being a thief, blatantly ripping off the whole idea of his site (if TD was ripping off anything, it was SFGHQ, so he said). He not only made this false accusation just because TD was using the same concept as MFGC, but it was also due to the pure coincidence that the acronym "MFGG" looked rather similar to "MFGC." While such a misunderstanding may be... understandable, it was the reaction from the MFGC webmaster that seemed rather unethical. First of all, he replaced the message on MFGC's main page with one big flame directed straight at TD, complete with excessive swearing and death threats. Soon afterwards, he gathered his friends, who also joined in the flaming of Thunder Dragon. Thanks to these individuals, flames could be seen on many forums such as "let's murder thunderdragon in his sleep," "let's all sign a petition to have mfgg taken down," and "bad thunderdragon! BAD, BAD, BAD!" Even MFGG's forum had suffered from excessive amounts of flames, spam, and flaming spam. Naturally, TD could not take this abuse, so he knew something had to be done. He would not flame back, as he knew he would be no better than them. Instead, he contacted the webmaster of MFGC, and politely explained the situation. After that, the webmaster came to his senses, and sincerely apologized. Thankfully, his friends apologized as well, and everybody made up. So all was well. For now, at least. While MFGG would generally grow to be successful, this was just the first of the many hardships MFGG would face. But that's for another time.

Who is this "TD" anyway?

Thunder Dragon is the kind of guy that you either love or you hate. Or perhaps something in between. Maybe, just maybe. He often tends to be the sarcastic type, although many cannot determine if he is being serious or not. Generally laid back in character, he often tends to be lazy when it comes to work on his own site. Many blame his laziness on the fact that he is "never online." While he is online at least four or five days out of the week for about four hours a day, he is rarely seen on AIM, and makes rather few posts on his forum. This is because unlike most MFGGers, he has a life - a depressing, uneventful life, but still a life nonetheless. Besides, it's not healthy to be living on a forum every hour of the day. As for AIM, he rarely signs on most likely due to the fact that he is not in the mood to converse, due to his constant depression. Despite being a depressed individual, however, he never lets out his feelings while online, and he tends to joke around whenever possible. Being rather intelligent (for a forum poster, anyway, if that's saying anything), he knows that letting out his feelings of angst would only lead to trouble. With that out of the way, TD enjoys to play video games. Who would have ever guessed? He is especially fond of... get this, Super Mario Bros. He is also rather fond of Sonic the Hedgehog and The Legend of Zelda, and, of course, Fire Emblem. He tends to obsess over FE in order to spark an interest in the English-speaking gamers of MFGG for Intelligent Systems' classic Strategy RPG series. And so far, it has worked... with a little help from Ryo, maybe. Also, TD is supposedly quite the artist. He is most fond of drawing dragons, monsters, robots, and robot dragon monsters. All of his work is done from imagination, and he considers tracing pictures to be be greatly dishonorable. He was even voted class artist in his senior year at high school, and was also inducted into the National Arts Honor Society.

What is a Thunder Dragon?

Just like nearly every other member of the MFGG forums, TD has an avatar character. However, unlike just about every other member, he allows for his character to be portrayed in any way possible, as long as the general idea of it is still there (he finds it sickening how other members throw a fit whenever someone else makes a minor error in the portrayal of their character). The generally idea of the character of TD is this: A humanoid dragon in silver and green mechanized armor, with yellow wings, eyes, and hair, and a large, yellow "lightsaber." As mentioned before, TD enjoys drawing from imagination, and he likes to encourage the same of those who wish to draw his character. As for the character himself, he is an emperor type who sits on his throne, drinking radioactive wine, ordering his servants around, and occasionally leaving his floating castle to kidnap maidens and search for shiny objects - typical dragon things. It is also said that somewhere in the land of MFGG he keeps a golden statue carved in his likeness. However, commoners are forbidden to touch it - one touch means instant death to the toucher. Or so they say.

What kind of name is "Thunder Dragon?"

He claims it's much more preferred than the name of some character, band, etc. followed by a sequence of numbers for a username. Luke chose that name based on his choice of weather and his favorite mythological creature. Luke is TD's real name, as if you hadn't figured that one out. Oh, and before you go around making Star Wars references, he's heard them all before. Everybody is his father, and the force is with him every hour of the day. He gets it.

Anyhow, thanks for reading. Hope this didn't take away too many precious minutes of your life. Even if it did, tough. Who's choice was it to read this anyway, eh? Have a nice day.
