"Fad" vs "Event"

This is getting really stupid. I keep hearing people say it's one, and others saying it's the other. I'm going to do Wikipedia does sometimes, and see what everyone thinks. So please nobody else move this until we can come to a consensus. Just sign your name under the correct tag with three ~ marks, with any additional comments.

Parakarry - I still say that since this is something people keep jumping onto, then it's still a fad, regardless of if the effects are permanent or not. Kitsune thinks this also.
