"Fad" vs "Event"

This is edit war is getting really stupid. I keep hearing people say it's one, and others saying it's the other, and it's obvious we need a resolution. I'm going to do Wikipedia does sometimes, and see what everyone thinks. So please nobody else move this page until we can come to a reasonable mature consensus here. Just sign your name under the correct tag with three ~ marks, with any additional comments.

Fad

Parakarry - I still say that since this is something people keep jumping onto, and that then it's still a fad, regardless of if the effects are permanent or not. Kitsune/Ainsworth thinks this also.

Event

Or alternatively, we could just call it the Mega Man name change.

Someone please lock this article. This is just getting too much reverts, just because of "Fad vs. Event" thingy. (And I agree with Parakarry.) - Hohoo

Also, whether or not it's a fad, it's technically an event, as it's a concept that is occuring in the forums. So even if it's a fad, it's still an event. That's why I edited it to event in the first place, to stop the argument, and to place it in a general term. Which apparently didn't work anyways. - Yoshiman

I was thinking about this on the way home, and I was thinking it could possibly just be the Mega Man name change, and having a part of the article talk about the "fad" dispute, since there's that 10 page thread in the GC on it. Parakarry 15:22, 8 January 2008 (EST)

There could be redirect pages, one with "fad" and one with "event", but leading into Mega Man name change. - Hohoo
