History
Super Mario 3d Engine: The Super Mario 3D Engine is rumored to be an added feature to Super Yoshi's Island, however, this has not yet been confirmed. The SM3D Engine is a very advanced engine for The Games Factory which uses perspective logic, Mode 7-esqe effects, and object resizing to make a limited 3-Dimensional world.
Super Mario World 3: Super Mario World 3 was a BETA demonstrating various elements of the 2-Dimensional sector of Super Yoshi's Island. There has also been a How-To submitted (Not yet accepted) to the main site that demonstrates "Mole Movement".
Gameplay
Gameplay of Super Yoshi's Island will be reminiscent of the original Yoshi's Island, with a few differences. The player will be able to switch from Baby Mario to Yoshi for certain tasks. Other characters and items will also be able to be manipulated to aid in certain situations. When Yoshi transforms, the game will move to a 3-D obastacle course which Yoshi will have to navigate in a certain time limit. Baby Mario may also have his own obstacles but that has not yet been confirmed.
Demo / Public Showing
Adan has posted some screens in the Fangame Discussion. A video on YouTube is also planned.
The game's first demo will be featured at the NCFC convention, along with a possible demo of the 3D courses. However, the tech demos are still in the forums.
