Super Mario Theta is a fangame in production by Mario Gamer with aid from Yoshiman . It has been in production since late 2006 and was unveiled at Nintendo Community Fangame Convention. On July 22, a website was launched. On October 27th, a trailer was posted. The game's details have been under tight wraps since production began. New information will be revealed on December 25.
Story
The mysterious story revolves around the greyscale nature of the world, and how Mario's quest is intricately related. Other than this, details are scarce.
Gameplay
Super Mario Theta is Mario Gamer's first real attempt at a traditional Mario side-scroller. Again, not much has been revealed other then it will feature a lot of replay value and not force a direct path through the story.
Θ Campaign
On August 24th, a message appeared. It reads, SOAR AT THE UMPIRE. It was unknown what this had to do with the game.
On August 31st, another message appeared. This time it read AM I PEAS OR THE RUT.
September 7th, I STARE THE ROAM UP.
September 14th, I HATE MA ROT PURSE
On September 22nd, a completely different message appeared; TOYNBEE IDEA IN KUBRICK'S 2001 RESURRECT DEAD ON PLANET JUPITER
On October 23rd, the final message appeared. It was smudged and hard to make out.
On October 24th, the game was fully unveiled as Super Mario Theta with additional information released. All previous notices, except for TOYNBEE IDEA, were anagrams of SUPER MARIO THETA.
