Super Mario Phantasia is a fangame currently in development by SilentDream. It was originally meant to blend of different gameplay styles but now is planned to be a more straightforward Mario platformer.
Contents
Story
A strange rainbow appears over an island not far from the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser's airships can be seen hovering around it. Princess Peach determines something is amiss and sends the Mario Bros. to investigate.
Gameplay
Gameplay is similar to Mario 64 and Mario retains many abilities from that game, it is possible to long jump, backflip, wall jump, and ground pound. Originally the game was going to use a traditional map screen but now the stages are interconnected and each have multiple power stars for the player to collect like in Mario 64. A new power up appears in Super Mario Phantasia called the Sniper Suit which gives Mario a bow, wings, and a Norse mythology styled helment. Mario will also be able to walk on planetoids like in Super Mario Galaxy.
