Super Mario Phantasia is a fangame currently in development by SilentDream. Like many of SilentDream's games it has received many changes over the course of it's development.
Gameplay
Super Mario Phantasia will be a game designed to challenge both the platforming and strategic skills Mario fans. The game features a card system that will allow the player to modify a stage in order to improve their odds of success. Player will be able to build decks to their liking and apply them to multiple characters. Unlike in traditional Mario fashion the player will encounter stages at random points on the map screen instead of specific ones, but most will be short and it's unlikely the player will experience the same exact one twice. Characters will be able to perform multiple moves like in the 3D Mario games and with the use of an Ultra Mushroom gain access to unique abilities such as Mario wielding a giant Hammer. In a addition players will be able to hold up to 5 reserve items at once but the slots can only be filled depending on the cards the player uses at the start of the stage.
