The Super Mario Galaxy Theory was a theory that was developed after Super Mario Galaxy was announced in E3 2006. It was believed that because this Mario game shared a similar name to "Mario Fan Games Galaxy", the game's success could lead to more people accidentally discovering MFGG through the use of search engines, thereby generating more traffic and possibly causing problems on both the forums and main site.

Many believed the forums would be overrun by newer members looking for this game and that the amount of them may have been difficult to control by the current admins and moderators. Some also believed that MFGG's bandwidth would be used up more quickly, thus forcibly closing the site for long periods of time.

Sincer the release of Super Mario Galaxy, the game has not had a significant impact on MFGG's traffic, nor has it caused any unusual influx of new members.
