Super Mario Bros.: Kill Bowser is one of Hello's earlier Ultramario Engine-based 2-D platform games. Like most of Hello's other games during his most prolific phase, the game ends with a grassy world and concludes with a dark land full of tanks and lava. In between are a desert and frozen world. There are 18 levels. In contrast to games like Super Mario Bros: Kingdom Troubles, Kill Bowser has more of a puzzle feel than many of his 2007 games. Completing many levels, including the first, requires manipulation of on/off blocks or other puzzle-like elements. And, needless to say, there's no shortage of Black Squirrel tiles. Hello even preserves the default sprites found in the unmodified Ultramario Engine.

Story

As usual, Bowser has abducted Princess Peach and taken her to his castle lair, and Mario steps in to save the day. Some observant players will notice that the final boss and ending (or what amounts to the ending) are virtually identical to that of Super Mario Bros.: Bowser's Terror. Others might note that Bowser never actually gets killed by Mario in this game (or any other games), as he always returns for more action, unless.

Music

Kill Bowser uses mostly remixed MP3 files. This, along with the Ultramario Engine's bulkiness, contributes to the game's rather large file size.

Reception

While Hello games somewhat usually generate mostly positive reviews and huge numbers of downloads, Kill Bowser received mixed reviews on the main site. Many people didn't like the weird resolution used in this game, and some felt the title was stupid. Also, many people felt that Kill Bowser was less refined compared to Hello's later works.
