Super Mario Bros.: Dark Days was Hello's first shooter game to be released on MFGG. Hello used the Martin Piecyk shooter engine and the GameCave Productions effects for this game and used the Game Maker particle system to include copious amounts of blood for every move that happens in the game. Black Squirrel provides the tilesets, as with most Hello games. Hard rock MP3s are played as background music.
Story
As with most of Hello's earlier games, there doesn't seem to be much backstory for this game.
Reception
The three reviews for this game vary widely, from 8/10 to as low as 2/10. While the violence level turned off some players, it was the gameplay that frustrated people most. Several players said they couldn't finish the first level, and even with save prompts after every level and midway gates, the game is very tough because Mario can only take one hit.
The game currently holds an average score of 5/10 on the main site.
