Super Mario Bros.: Adventure Journey was released by Hello on the last day of 2006. It is a platform game with eight levels and an overworld map. The game uses an earlier build of Ultramario's Ultramario Engine that lacks certain features later implemented in the engine, including the reserve item and a time limit. The few puzzles contained in SMB: Adventure Journey all deal with moving springboards to their proper locations in order to access pipes or clear high walls. Most of the tiles were designed by Black Squirrel, and Hello doesn't change much with the Ultramario Engine's default sprites. The levels all use MP3 files as background music, most of which are played in multiple Hello games. Apparently there is no game story whatsoever; the game truly is an adventure and a journey without a destination.

Reception

SMB: Adventure Journey has three reviews posted for it, with an average score of 7.3. One of the most popular of Hello's earlier games, many people described this game with terms like "surprisingly decent." The executable file is just 6.42 megabytes, making it one of Hello's smaller games, too. The game is not especially difficult and can be completed relatively quickly. Some of the main complaints include the unoriginal title, the lack of an ending and bosses, the inability to save game progress, the forced full-screen mode, and the slow pipe speeds. Several people also noticed a glitch in Level 6 (the pipe maze) where an essential springboard can be thrown right through a wall, rendering the level impossible to complete and forcing the player to restart the game. Also, the flagpole sprites aren't right except for small Mario.
