Controls
The controls are those of any other Hello fangame, with a few tweaks here and there to improve gameplay.

Features
OTAKU's comment on Super Mario World ASE's features: "The game features updated SMA4 graphics, physics that are as close tom Super Mario World as we could get them, 6 different colored Yoshis each with their own abilities, 12 different power-ups that vary by character, 4 playable characters (Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Blue Toad.), several variable worlds, well-constructed levels, several mounts including Poochy, a tank, and 3 different Kuribo Shoes, Subpop and Skypop levels, a serious story, swap-able character skins, all SMB, SMB2, SMB3, and SMW enemies and several new enemies, 8-bit throwbacks to the NES Mario platformers, an MP3 soundtrack which can also be customized, Donkey Kong-specific levels, intense boss battles, several "fusion" levels (We are big fans of MKFusion.), and a lot more. Our engine is literally packed with content, and if the content has not yet been inserted, the graphics have been completed."

History
Super Mario World ASE was first announced on August 29, 2010, where it was called Super Mario Bros. Ultra. It then got a new topic on the current forums with its current name. A reactor was also created for it, which OTAKU then deleted because of arguments and, y'know, drama.
OTAKU's excerpt on the history of the Super Mario World ASE Reactor: The Smwase Reactor 2010 was founded on the day before Halloween, 2010, by XxmoedrillDXX. (Formerly known as OTAKU.) Mikeystar, OTAKU's friend from the old MFGG days, and Karate Cat, a friend from the GoombaDave's Random Levels board, joined the next day. Mikeystar was promoted to administrator, and Karate Cat was still a member and he hardly posted. sspp03 joined in March or February... (We don't know for sure.) ...of 2011 and was promoted to level designer and moderator. Karate Cat was promoted to moderator shortly after. (XxmoedrillDXX was hesitant to promote Karate Cat, who at the time did not post very often.) User vs. User Combat was played in May of 2011 and the popular forum game RPG, S's Adventure was played one or two days before the start of Summer. (June 21) Soon after, the Smwase Reactor 2010 was deleted on 6/21/2011... (Because of shit like what happened last night.) ...but was "resurrected" three days later by a hacker known as the "Grim Reaper". (He wasn't much of a hacker at all. He was a punk who constructed a fake board that looked just like our old board.) During that fiasco, a then-newbie on the Smwase Reactor 2010 known as BuzzNBen... (See "Moe's Memories" below.) ...constructed a board the day before the Smwase Reactor 2010 was deleted, known as the SMB2012 Reactor. (sspp03: "We didnt allowed OTAKU (XxmoedrillDXX) to join because he went psycho and deleted the old reactor. We forgave him eventually after he apologized on his Facebook page. It was also around the time I found Smwase's untimely resurrection. I informed BuzzNBen about this and everyone was pissed at the Reaper (nickname we gave to that hacker) for not leaving Smwase to R.I.P. We thought it was DeeY... (The Reaper's name history listed DeeY.) ...but it turned out it was no one among us that was pretentding to be the reaper. Mikeystar revived SMWASE under the name Forever Famicom Fangames Galaxy Reactor. (FFFG for short.) But the site was hacked as well by the Grim Reaper. DarkBlueYoshi... (A skilled programmer and tech geek.) ...freaked out and because of this, he was banned by me and Mikeystar on FFFG and BuzzNBen on the Doomsday Reactor. The Reaper still hacked FFFG and SMB2012 and we found his IP address... (Incidentally, we thought he was DarkBlueYoshi.) ...and banned his ass from the two boards. We eventually let DarkBlueYoshi back on FFFG and SMB2012. There hasn't been any hacking done by the Reaper ever since as FFFG was hacked three times and SMB2012 ??? times. In the week of Sunday, Aug 18-24, FFFG was changed to Super Mario World ASE because we strayed too far from the fangame that brought us together.")
Moe's Memories: Chapter 1 "I remember constructing the Smwase Reactor, and I headed over to the GDRL board and came across BuzzNBen, all alone. I didn't even know who he was at the time, but I was trying to think of a polite term for, "Get your ass over to the Smwase Reactor!" Soon enough he joined in on the fun."
The Iceman404 Fiasco
On August 22nd, 2011, Iceman404 joined the new Super Mario World ASE board. He was outraged when he came across his sprite work posted by Karate Cat as his own. A huge argument started, and OTAKU played peace maker, where as the topic quickly flipped when Karate Cat apologized and sspp03 was accused of calling 404 a swollen fetishist. All Hell broke loose, and eventually overnight the argument settled.
The Grim Reaper
Suspicion rose when the reactor was randomly resurrected by an admin known as Grim Reaper . He made a post entitled "And A Forum Rises From Its Grave" which details the story of Prince Prospero and the Red Death. This caused members to believe that the Grim Reaper hacked the boards. He even distributed the source code, which caused DJ Yoshiman to delete all existing posts of All-Star Edition from the MFGG Forums.
Forever Famicom Fangames Galaxy
In response, people moved to the Super Mario Bros. 2012 reactor, and then the new Forever Famicom Fangames Galaxy reactor was opened. On there, they discussed and worked just as they did on the old reactor pre-deletion.
New Super Mario World ASE Reactor
The Forever Famicom Fangames Galaxy Reactor was later moved to the the NEW Super Mario World ASE Reactor. OTAKU, when questioned, responded with, "I figured we should head back to our roots. To Super Mario World ASE's home. Where we felt comfortable."
