Super Hyper Paper Deluxe Mario Bros. Galaxy World Land 4: Partners in Sunshine SuperStar Island & Saga of Time Advance 64 DS, (SHPDMBGWL4:PISSI&SOTA64DS), is, as you can probably guess, is a poorly made fangame inspired by the Waligie and Player Adventure series of games. In it you play as Mario who goes on seemingly pointless adventures across time and space. The name originates from several Super Mario and Wario games. SHPDMBGWL4 was generally well-recieved by MFGGers due to it's originality and general stupidity.

A sequel going by the name "Super Hyper Paper Deluxe Mario Bros. Galaxy World Land 4: Partners in Sunshine SuperStar Island & Saga of Time Advance 64 DS 2: Mario's X-Cellent Mango Adventure through Sea-Bass World and Beyond" was released on the 26th July 2007. It is a rough continuation of the original game with many returning characters and various other fangames parodied. The story ends on a cliffhanger making way for another sequel.

The Alphabet Man (Sonic) avoiding George Clooney's clones in the first game.

SHPDMBGWL4 2 was not as well recieved as the original, mainly because it exchanged the humour and randomness for longer platforming sections, which, due to them being programmed with the default TGF platform movement, wasn't a wise choice. Work began on the final game of the trilogy but was scrapped not long after, however the project was restarted and finished on the 15th August.

The third, going by the title "Super Hyper Paper Deluxe Mario Bros. Galaxy World Land 4: Partners in Sunshine SuperStar Island & Saga of Time Advance 64 DS 3: One step beyond Mario's X-Cellent Mango Adventure through Sea-Bass World and Beyond: A Ducktale of Epic Proportions aginst an Evil Space Korean Government" follows Quackers the duck's adventure to save Mario from the clutches of Space Korea. It is built differently from the first two games, and has an enormous amount of replay value due to it's hidden Stop 'n' Swop feature, and many secret levels and multiple endings.

SHPDMBGWL4 3 has become particularly popular, moreso than the previous two titles. It, along with SHPDMBGWL4 2 has inspired BanjoSonic to create his own spin-off game "SHPDMBGWL4:BanjoSonic Edition" as well as generating a number of fans.

Characters

  • Super Mario - The main character who survives many deaths and becomes a wanted man by the Space Korean Army. He is captured at the end of SHPDMBGWL4 2 and needs to be rescued in the sequel.
The main characters in Super Hyper Paper Deluxe Mario Bros. Galaxy World Land 4 3. Left to right: Player 1, "Jengo" Fett, Quackers the Duck, Donley Kong. Travelling on the "Doom Buggy"'s "All range mode" outside Space Korea.
  • "Quackers" the duck - A duck with teleportation powers. He is a English sterotype who drives a tank although makes a lot of stupid decisions. Becomes friends with Mario after they are abandoned on Sega Neptune.
  • Player 1 - The main character from the Player Adventure games, namely the first. Arrives in SHPDMBGWL4 3 when the Space Koreans invade his game.
  • Donley Kong - A character from Donley Kong 3 who also appears in Lets Go Thingio!. Joining in SHPDMBGWL4 3, he is forced to join Quackers in his quest and only stays because his original Pirate ROM is attacked by Space Koreans.
  • "Jengo" Fett - A bounty hunter. Spends the first two games hunting Mario but is betrayed by the Space Koreans in the third. Finds Quackers and the games annoying. Is not Jango Fett.
  • The Alphabet man - Supposedly based on the Virtua fighter character. Due to lack of references he becomes Sonic. Is eventually killed.
  • The "Korean Government" - Are after Mario after he "upsets" them. The Korean Government acquire space technology and build Space Korea, (Becoming Space Koreans) capture Mario then attempt to conquer the universe and internet by breaking into other games.

Trivia

  • SHPDMBGWL4 parodies several other fangames, mainly Lets Go Thingio! by Someguy and the rest of Tech Wing. Super Mario World: Dark Horizon is featured in the first game and Yoshi vs. Windows in the second. Also the Hitler boss battle is based loosely on the Super Mario Cowabunga! boss against Medaforcer. The first screen from Waligie DX is taken over by Space Koreans, and Donley Kong from Donley Kong 3 becomes a main character in the third game. The third game even parodies Black Squirrel's own Player Adventure series.
  • The correct ending of the first game is impossible to access as it is not linked up with the main game properly, thus meaning the end is a blank screen.
  • All the games have hidden levels. A lot of them can only be accessed through the password screen.
  • The title originally had "Clash" in it, but for some reason this wasn't included anywhere else but the first game's title screen.
  • All the games feature a hidden glory emblem (or two), although up until 3 the data was not saved.
  • SHPDMBGWL4 3 has a Stop 'N' Swop feature based off the one from Banjo-Kazooie. However, unlike the one from Banjo-Kazooie, this one works and is slightly bigger. It currently does not have a game to "swop" with yet.

Fourth Sequel

Another sequel (or expansion pack) to the SHPDMBGWL4 series is currently in development. Not much has been revealed, however it continues the SHPDMBGWL4 3 storyline and contains even more replay value than the last game. At some point the main characters travel back in 1924 to fight Charlie Chaplin. Also many of the stages can be replayed to get Gems, Relics and "Gemrelics" based off Crash Bandicoot 3.
