Some notable things about Someguy include his large fandom of the games Feel the Magic and The Rub Rabbits! for Nintendo DS, the fact he removes the otherwise comical or happy "emotion" seen in his profile and signature during certain short bouts of feeling down, his 'obsession' with the late game developer Gunpei Yokoi, his sensitivity to real violence/death yet commonly having such in ideas and stories because of the emotional pull, and his many fangame projects. Several have noted this "unhealthy obsession".

Someguy hopes to make Gunpei Yokoi a more common name to hear in game conversations, as while lesser known, he is still up there in importance with other more commonly thought of names, the most common on a Mario forum being Mario's creator Shigeru Miyamoto obviously. While doing this, he tries not to be overly annoying, trying to keep in a cheerfull atmosphere rather then focusing on the failure of the Virtual Boy, his death, etc. Two 'remakes' of his last game, Gunpey, are ironically to be released soon.
