Former Aliases

RetroX originally registered on MFGG as MarioGames (not to be confused with Mario Gamer). After spending time learning how to make 3D games in Game Maker, he changed his name to Yoshi_d3d. He spent lots of time with this name, and a bulk of his time on MFGG at the time.

Soon after, he decided that he needed a new username. He changed it to Dimensional on other sites for a week, but then decided to stick with Retro. He changed his name to Retro on MFGG, too, and liked it.

He eventually changed his name to RetroXYZ and then to RetroX.

Present

Despite Game Maker being a large part of his internet history, he now refuses to use it, and prefers to stick with C++ (no wonder that he never gets anything done). There is one exception to this rule, which is his entry to second Joke Game Competition, Super Mario Sunburn.

He has since become a moderator on Metroid: Fan Mission and also runs a Mega Man fan site called Mega Man Fan Factory. He was also one of the original five people who founded Forum32x.

Character

RetroX's character is represented by several black cubes or squares, outlined in green.

RetroX's character was originally a black stick figure with white eyes and a white mouth and no connections to limbs. However, this reference was abandoned simply because it was "just another generic reference".

Game Creation

Originally, RetroX was a large fan of Game Maker. However, he eventually was introduced to GNU/Linux through Ubuntu, and was unable to run Game Maker and the games made with it. Eventually, he started learning PHP, and began coding a website while still using Game Maker in Windows. After a while, he learned C++, and then began using GNU/Linux a lot more often. He eventually dumped Game Maker, to the point where he now, for the most part, refuses to use it. He now uses GNU/Linux most of the time, except for when he wishes to play a game on Steam.

At this point, RetroX often programs small utilities or random C++ headers as opposed to making actual games, however, eventually, he plans on making an actual game with C++ and SFML.
