Paper Mario World is considered the worst Mario fangame ever made. Levels were haphazardly assembled, graphics clashed and were poorly resized. On July 29th, 2005, Paper Mario World Gold was attempted and released by Yoshiman in hopes of increasing it's quality. As well, Yoshiman provided voiceovers in between chapters. Paper Mario World Gold neglected it's "gold" name, and is the version that everyone knows as just "Paper Mario World".
Trivia
- On September of 2009, Coltranepep will attempt to make a version even better than Paper Mario World Gold called "Paper Mario World Platinum".
- The game is considered a hallmark of bad quality; all pretenders to the throne are usually compared to it.
- There are technically two sequels to this saga, Paper Mario World 2 and Super Paper Mario World.
