Normal Super Mario Bros. is an unorthodox fangame by Gamester, and the first installment of the Normal Super Mario Bros. series. It was made when he decided that he would try his hand at a "non-serious" fangame for once. The game features the first level of the classic, Super Mario Bros., but with a twist: you must complete the course under the influence of a Fuzzy. The Fuzzy alters the entire experience of the game.

Gameplay

At first, the game presents itself as a normal Super Mario Bros. clone. The game uses the fairly-nonstandard up key for jump, and has no run button. Mario's walk speed has been increased to compensate. Under the influence of the Fuzzy, the game uses several strange graphical effects and the gameplay takes several turns throughout. Something to note is the use of the spacebar in special sections.

Reception

Normal Super Mario Bros. has been reviewed 14 times so far, and its average rating is currently at 8.9. Many praised this game as original and creative, putting a new spin on an old classic. There were however, low replay value scores given for this game. Several reviews noted how it wouldn't be as fun to play after all of the jokes were already seen. The positive reception spawned two sequels.
