The Nintendo Community Fangame Convention (NCFC) is an annual event that takes place around October time. It involves many Nintendo-related fangaming communities, including Mario Fan Games Galaxy, Metroid: Fan Mission, The Zelda Game Network, Metroid Headquarters, Zelda Fan Game Central, and The Gaming Universe. Any fangames that feature Nintendo characters, or are otherwise related to Nintendo, can be submitted. Fangames are showcased via "booths," which are websites that provide information about the game, and in some cases offer demos or complete versions. NCFC is much like the Sonic Ameteur Games Expo (SAGE) run annually by SFGHQ, which was based loosly on the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3).

In addition to booths, there are also "workshops," which are live demonstrations of how various fangame-related objectives are shown. While most workshops can only be registered by a pair of users (a lead host and an assistant), two workshops (Engine Components for Clickteam products and Game Maker) can be hosted by multiple pairs, as these workshops can contain more than one subject.

Due to this event, many people decided to release their games at the event before releasing them to their originating communities.
