The News Forum was created by Klobber Template:Citation needed as a forum dedicated for news regarding the site and forums. It proved unnecessary as news was rarely posted and eventually was closed. The General Chat is currently used to post the news.

News does find its way to its own forum on occasion provided that there is a threat that a flood of topics about the same subject will occur. This can typically be seen during and after the launch of a highly anticipated game or system. Most recently the Nintendo Wii brought with it a forum and it is being used for impressions and further news regarding the system and its games. These forums are temporary and are deleted when activity dies down. One such forum, however, did become a permanent forum. When Nintendo Wifi Connection was launched, a board for posting friend codes and requesting matches with other members was created. It is now known as the Wifi and Online Gaming forum.

The original news forum is now used as a testing grounds for admins and is invisible to the public eye.
