New SuperMario is a fangame created by Ultramario. It is the sequel to his previous fangame, New SuperMario.

Overview

Quickies

New SuperMario 2 uses same engine as in it's prequel, but with many tweak-ups and upgrades. Those include map screen, multiple section and secondary entrance systems.

New SuperMario 2 is the largest game Ultramario has ever done (being rough 8MBs). One of the reasons game got so big is because he uses MP3 music instead of midis in one of the versions. There are 120 levels in total, a lot more than in most other fangames.

GamePlay

Map system

Mapsystem featured in Super Mario Bros. 3 is remade in NSM2. The system allows player to re-play any level they wish (except switch palaces) as many times as they want to. Player can also gather useful items along the way (even when playing a level) and use them when needed. System also features secret baths and levels.

PowerUps

New SuperMario 2 features seven both classic and unique powerups. They are categoried into three subcategories differing in strength (for example: you won't turn back into SuperMario when you collect mushroom as a FireMario, you'll receive mushroom to your inventory instead).

Weak Powerups

 Mushroom

Mediocre Powerups

 Fire Flower
 Ice Flower
Raccoon Leaf (does not make Mario fly)

Powerful Powerups

 Hammersuit
 Bombsuit
Annihilator Flower (shoot fire and ice balls at the same time)
Jumpsuit (allows player to double jump)
