Community Fangame Project Game (title undecided, at all) is a fangame scheduled for production via the Community Fangame Project. The game is currently in very elementary stages of planning. Development on the actual software will not start until the middle of January, both for planning purposes and for the holidays.

As the MFGG forums' fangaming userbase is generally divided between Klik software and Game Maker, the game is divided into two fairly different versions; one, made in Multimedia Fusion 2, stars the Mario Bros. in their quest to retrieve a deadly item that could destroy the world. The other, made in Game Maker, features the Wario Bros., who have stolen said deadly item. Neither party is aware that the other is their enemy.

Each version of the game is able to connect to the other for certain events, which is previously unheard of.

The game is currently in a mess of ideas, but is beginning to take a very promising form.

Characters

Besides the Mario Bros. and Wario Bros., most characters are undecided.

Plot

The plot is subject to frequent change and is not at all finalized. Here is a general idea of the last coherent storyline presented:

Spoilers! Plot/ending information may follow (highlight to read):

  1. Kamek drops a mythical item over E. Gadd's lab. Gadd takes it. It has evil powers, so he keeps it to prevent misuse.
  2. Wario and Waluigi steal the item while Gadd is on vacation.
  3. Gadd commissions the Mario Bros. to find the thief (who is unknown to them.)
  4. Dr. Crygor claims the item can help find treasure, sending the Wario Bros. on a treasure hunt.
  5. Mario Bros. spend a lot of time being led on goose chases, including thieves who have powerful items of evil (that are not the item they are looking for.) The Wario Bros. instead are following the item's directions, and getting into lots of trouble. (Note: King Boo has an association with gambling through Sunshine.)
  6. Kamek realizes his item is missing. He suspects the Mario Bros. and becomes a common obstacle.
  7. After one of Kamek's later defeats (about World 7), he asks Bowser for help. He says the item has great evil power inside of it; that's true, but he didn't actually know that. At the end of World 7, after many doomships, Bowser is the boss for the Mario Bros.
  8. the Toadies find that the Wario Bros. have the item, and Kamek is their World 8 boss.
  9. The story past this is undecided.

Undecided points include: the physical appearance of the item; Kamek's purpose for carrying the item; the actual power of the item; and specific levels and side-stories within them.
