Mushroom Kingdom SHOWDOWN! is a fangame made by WwwWario. It is inspired by Super Smash Bros. and is one of the first complete fan games to have that kind of genre. It features Mario and related characters, along with stages that are based in places on the Super Mario games. It also includes a Classic mode, and a Takedown mode. WwwWario would usually update it, with new features (characters, stages, etc).

Gameplay

The gameplay functions similarly to the Super Smash Bros. series, including the items and freedom. But instead, players have to deplete all of their opponent's health, rather than knocking off the stage (which teleports them into the middle of the stage). If a character hits an opponent, a meter (which is displayed on top off the character's health) will fill up and once it's all filled up, they can perform a powerful attack which is called the Showdown Attack.

Reception

Mushroom Kingdom SHOWDOWN! received mixed reviews. Syaxamaphone praised it for the decent GUI and it's amount of characters and stages, but a lot of MFGGers criticized it for it's clashing graphics. It earned the Game of the Month award of December 2014, though.
