MFGG IRC

The MFGG IRC is the official IRC chatroom of MFGG. It is currently hosted on BadnikNET, the IRC server of Sonic Retro. The move to BadnikNET was made when the former IRC founder pdk (Quicky) "closed" the channel on OFTC. The current founder is Techokami, who also founded the current iterations of Metroid: Fan Mission's and Goshi-Dan's Arcade's chatrooms, which are hosted on the same network.
Differences from the old chat
Black Squirrel, the current admin of MFGG, took a great interest in the chatroom after the move to BadnikNET, and in November/December 2008 put together a timetable for IRC events in an attempt to make the chatroom more active. It has so far worked reasonably well.
The channel is "protected" by a retired Goonbot, who acts as a ChanServ bot and automatically kicks people for excess flooding and repetition. Goonbot itself has been met with mixed reviews, though it has recieved various tweaks since to be a bit fairer. Like all chatrooms on BadnikNET, it is also home to Motobug, a bot that simply records posting data. Motobug doesn't actually do anything inside of the chatroom however - it just logs things.
The IRC also now has a different set of channel operators:
on top of this, all admins and global moderators of the forums qualify for op status, and all moderators of both the main site and forums qualify for half-op status.

This is the official IRC channel of MFGG. This is currently the 3rd iteration of the channel, which used to be on Mysteria (currently a defunct IRC server).
