MFGGU (MFGG Underground, affectionately known as "the U") is an elite community founded by Mugenmidget and Delmore and composed of various friends and fellows. Although "MFGG" is included in the name, it is unrelated to Mario or other purposes of the original MFGG, and is labelled thus only because it was founded because of it. Due to arguments between the founders, Delmore was eventually kicked out of the U, and Cutman took his place.

The primary purpose of the U is to provide a community similar to that of MFGG, but free of excessive stupidity. New members are approved or refused by popular opinion of the existing members, which causes a slight problem; U members are generally very friendly with each other, but unfair towards those the community dislikes.

The U is rather occult in that it does not take kindly to happenings within it being spread out to foreigners. It remains very secretive and only speculation and espionage can reveal any intricacies.

On February 18th, 2008, the U and its wiki were indefinately closed from The Great Mistake.

Controversy

MFGGU is commonly seen as a negative forum despite having a strong sense of community and a large amount of followers.

Various discussions have made their way into the PPP or General Chat regarding the U and MFGG and is usually a constant debate over which forum is greater (or worse). The discussion often becomes heated quickly until the threads are locked and members banned for flaming each other and/or bringing up an outside dispute.

Instances such as Nightwing's "dupe school", a forum on MFGGU set up on September 5th of 2007 to give information/tips on how to thoroughly set up a duplicate account, as well as nothing but negative articles on MFGGU's wiki about MFGG members, making it a form of an Encyclopedia Dramatica aimed towards MFGG, do not help to relieve the animosity between both of the communities.

These arguments led to the forum's nickname of "The Cancer". Those against MFGGU use the nickname to refer to the board's negative impact on MFGG, while MFGGU members mockingly use it to ridicule anti-U members.

History

I need somebody to write a brief history here

Playtime's over

On September 23rd, much of the Playpen area was removed. This was essentially the proving grounds for new members -- their posts here would determine their presence or absence from the U's depths. Ratings were now given out based on the potential members' performance on *any* forum, as opposed to in the Playpen.

The Playpen was later reinstated as a celebration when Joey was demodded.

Closure

On February 19th, 2008, MFGGU and its wiki (although a mirror was made here) were closed for good as a result of the events of The Great Mistake.
