Beginning of Kritter

Kritter first came to MFGG during the days of Bowser Tech. He's a newbie to the whole Mario fangaming and forum scene. He registered on the forums using his name, which at the time, were merely a guestbook-looking message centre. Posting a few details about his game Luigi Quest, he quickly realised that people seemed to be interested in it.

Later on, he became a member of the Bowser Tech forums, which were soon to become the official and first MFGG Forums hosted on Ezboard, under the name of Kritter. Though other usernames followed later, due to hacks on his Ezboard accounts, such as Kritter2069, Kritter3k, Kritter5k, Kritter5x etc. Kritter quickly gained respect as a well spoken, intelligent member of the forums, as well as being good at spriting, and fangaming in general, as his game quickly gained popularity. Over time however, Luigi Quest would slowly decline due to the engine becoming worn and levels constantly needing redesigns.

After the events of the Great Kyle Flamewar, Thunder Dragon left the site, and put Kritter in charge. This was due to the fact that Kritter had managed to calm and contain the situation to a degree, and was also a respected member. From then on Kritter was often known as the second-in-command of Mario Fan Games Galaxy, particularly the forums, though in reality, he was generally in charge of the whole scene and was often seen as such.

As an Admin

During Kritter's administration, a lot of changes happened to both the site and forum. The site was redesigned to the current format it uses today, as opposed to a single-page database of libs and sheets, and he also helped set up the format for the PHP driven site originally. The forums underwent numerous PHP incarnates, including the Invisionboard it uses to date, forum sections, rules, badges and other such ideas were all spawned by Kritter in some form or another, and a lot of the major historical moments in MFGG's history were all influenced or administered by Kritter in some way. He was also responsible for the very first (and often said to be best) MFGG April Fool's Prank and many other things. All said, Kritter has played a huge part in shaping MFGG, though it is often forgotten by the members.

As a member, Kritter was well known for being intelligent and passionate about something he believes in, something that has still not changed to date, though has perhaps become a little overzealous sometimes in its execution. Often engaging in debates with troublesome members such as Nightwing, and ending up writing huge posts to defend his points. Argumentativeness aside, he was also known for being a nice guy with a good sense of humour, as well as a just and fair Admin, until people began to complain all the time about little things, a trend which is still apparent even now on the forums, and widely realised and hated by the current admins. Currently Kritter finds it hard to maintain a good reputation on the boards due to members who refuse to acknowledge that he is not the evil "Kritler" figure that his unfair and unjustified reputation has deemed him to be.

Future

Kritter resigned as an adminstrator and banned himself in 2004, due to suffering a serious breakdown in real life, caused by a string if distressing events and the sudden death of his 19 year old cat. It's believed that he left due to an argument with Shadowman, but the argument was only the icing on the cake.

Kritter then began to attend college, and stayed banned from the forums while he was at college to prevent procrastination, only choosing to visit during his holidays, though he is now permanently unbanned. He was almost permabanned from the board on August 2nd 2006, however he and Klobber managed to sort it out over PM's in a calm way and both realised they were in the wrong and apologised, and he was once again unbanned. He also has an unusual fan base unofficially led by Duckboy.

Kritter and Mason each have a similar character. Each character wears a red robe and sometimes carries a staff. The character Kritter dates back further than Mason, to the original Ezboard forums, and has undergone a few changes since its original incarnation, which has often led beliefs that Mason copied the idea. But both are Magikoopa. However, Kritter drew a picture that makes them very distinct from each other. Kritter's character started off as a dark Orange Kamek clone, but later became a taller, more distinct Magikoopa with a stylised and unique red hooded robe with gray sleeve cuffs and a green pair of glasses, which act as eyes when he is drawn.

Kritter is a great artist, yet he'll never admit it. He does a lot of types of art, including hand drawn Photoshopped art, 3D art, sprites and music, most of which can be seen on his Deviantart and sometimes posted on the MFGG forums. He also sometimes has a problem of thinking of things to draw, but a lot of artists do.

Mood towards MFGG

Kritter's mood towards MFGG tends to fluctuate. This can range from a general love of the forum to extreme hatred. This is generally due to the attitudes of the members and the overwhelming sense of "jerkishness" and general disregard for any sense of order and lack of intelligence that is all too often displayed by the forum members.

Trivia

  • Kritter is the first boss in Super Mario Storm, a fangaming classic
  • The Kritter boss fight was going to be harder than it ended up being. Press Start made sure of that.
  • Kritter was also a boss in the game Kittie Quest, but only a few people like Yoshiman saw it.
  • Kritter once had a fangame called Luigi Quest, which was one of the most anticipated MFGG fangames in the old days, but has since been canned. It went through a dozen incarnations of engines, level design and graphic styles, which is the cause of its demise.
  • Kritter is currently working on a fangame called Mario Land: Minigame Mayhem.
  • Kritter is responsible for a lot of historical moments in MFGG's past.
  • Kritter has been permabanned at least 3 or 4 times, but has come back each time to post once more, though recently requested a permaban for personal reasons and will not return.
