The Hello Mario Engine is an open source engine for GameMaker: Studio containing features from all of the classic Mario games. This engine includes a whopping 14 different powerups, many different Yoshi and shoe colors, over a hundred enemies, and much, much more!

Hello allows people to modify this engine however they like, as long as they don't claim this engine as their own creation. This engine requires that you have at least the Standard version of GameMaker Studio. The free version will not work, due to its resource limits.

  • SHIFT/X: Jump/Enter Level/Menu Selection
  • SHIFT+UP/X+UP: Spin Jump
  • CONTROL/Z: Run/Pick Things Up
  • ARROW KEYS: Move/Duck/Slide Down Slopes
  • SPACE BAR: Reserve Item/Map Inventory
  • ENTER: Pause/Unpause
  • ALT+R: Restart Game
  • ALT+ENTER: Full Screen
  • ALT+F4: Quit Game
