Notoriety
The Hello Engine series is notorious for being overused by many fangame creators that use Game Maker. People who make games with this engine hardly ever bother to change any of the sprites or sounds, and a big percentage of Hello Engine games are so poor they aren't accepted by quality control on MFGG's main site. The Hello Engine is also widely criticized for Hello's poor programming habits, including his refusal to use any form of tabbing, which contributes to the difficulty in editing the engine.
