The Hello Engine 3 is an open source Mario engine made with Game Maker containing features from the classic Mario games. This engine comes with more features than any other open source Mario engine. The source can be downloaded here. Users with the free version of Game Maker can download a "Lite" version of the engine here. You can do whatever you want with this engine as long as you give credit to Hello.

Controls

  • SHIFT/X: Jump/Enter Level/Title Screen Selection
  • SHIFT+UP/X+UP: Spin Jump
  • CONTROL/Z: Run/Pick things up.
  • ARROW KEYS: Move/Duck/Slide Down Slopes
  • SPACE BAR/C: Let out your reserved item.
  • ENTER: Pause/Unpause
  • F1: View Help File
  • F2: Restart Game
  • F3: Full Screen + Resolution (Sharp)
  • F4: Full Screen (Blurry)
  • F5: Frame Skip On/Off
