The Hello Engine 2 is an engine designed by Hello using Game Maker 6 Pro. This engine was never actually released open source, and the last game to use it was Super Mario Bros. Shine Pursuit. This engine was scrapped, and replaced by the Hello Engine 3, because the messy Drag&Drop code made it exceedingly difficult to modify.

Notoriety
The Hello Engine series is notorious for being overused by many fangame creators that use Game Maker. People who make games with this engine hardly ever bother to change any of the sprites or sounds, and a big percentage of Hello Engine are so poor they aren't accepted by quality control on MFGG's main site. The Hello Engine is also widely criticized for Hello's poor programming habits, including his refusal to use any form of tabbing, which contributes to the difficulty in editing the engine.
