Forum Moderator

Moderator's Badge, used by all forum moderators that are not Administrators, PPP Mods or Badge Mods.

A moderator (mod) in the context of a forum moderator, has powers higher than regular members. Such powers include moving a topic, deleting a topic, editing posts and closing/opening topics. While they don't have as much power as administrators, they do hold a responsibility above members in keeping the forums as stable as possible in the absence of other moderators.

There are a number of different moderator types:

Forum-Specific Moderators

Ordinary Moderators have power over only one (or two) forums, however they are able to ban anyone so can use "cross forum moderation" in an emergency.

The Forum Mods are Joey in the General Chat, Yoshiman in Fangame Discussion, Rage in the Arts Board, Tragic in the PPP, and Parakarry, Black Squirrel, ShadowMan, Bacteriophage, and Press Start in the Submit-it. Note however that the Submit-it mods do not have banning powers.

Global Moderators

In June, 2007, the incumbent mods of the old system were upgraded to Global Moderators, while new mods were appointed for specific forums. Global mods have the same powers as ordinary moderators however they moderate every board rather than just one.

The current Global Moderators are Captain Jeff Silvers, Jak, Fanguy, and Kommandant Dragmire.

PPP Moderators

In addition, there exists a stripped-down variation of moderator known as a PPP Mod. Jas and Black Squirrel are such. PPP Mods cannot ban or stretch their powers outside of the Pointless Post Palace, but still carry all other mod powers. Their main purpose is to try and keep the PPP relatively spam-free as that board is too big for global mods and administrators alone.

Past Moderators

Past moderators include Nite Shadow, supertoad2k, and SonicProject. Hatman was also a PPP Mod for a short time. In addition to this all site staff are given moderator powers for the Submit-it, so Ylle, Delmore and Toodles Team have also been moderators in the past.
