ENIGMA is a freeware, open-source alternative to Game Maker that simulates the vast majority of features and functions offered in GM 8.x, as well as partial GM Studio support.

So far, few (if any) MFGGers use ENIGMA to make games, although VinnyVideo used it to make a Secret Santa gift for Mit in 2013.
