The '''Custom Word Filter''' was a modification [[Retriever II]] put together for the board software to allow members to change and create their own word filters on the forum. This would allow members to convert netspeak to words of full length (such as laugh out loud instead of lol) and if they so wished use simple words or phrases to post their own emoticons. Various settings such as turning the default filter on/off, setting whether words you read, write, or both will be filtered, etc. These settings could be accessed in the User CP under the Options section, in Board Settings and Word Filters.

When the forums had moved to phpBB3 in late 2009, the modification wasn't brought back, thus making it a semi-notable relic in MFGG's forum software.
