Cap'n Coconuts first registered on the mainsite on March 29, 2008. He's one of the more prolific reviewers on MFGG, being one of the few members to reach Super Reviewer status. In 2014 he tied with VinnyVideo for the Best Reviewer award at MFGG Awards. Cap'n Coconuts has currently released three fangames, all of which have met with a fairly positive reception.
History
In November 2012, Cap'n Coconuts adopted his new username, changing from his old name Captain Cook.
On February 24, 2015, about half a dozen MFGGers started copying his avatar. SuperArthurBros is believed to be the one who started this short-lived avatar fad.
On October 31st, his Forum username was changed to Shadow Coconuts during The Hallowsphere event. Later that day, he decided to make the name change permanent. On November 1st, he formally announced that the change would be permanent. He has later changed it to Cap'n Krampus, and then he changed it back to Cap'n Coconuts, however.
On December 7th, he made an IRC chat. It isn't currently official yet, but many people are using it.
Character
Cap'n Coconuts had a history of calling out other members, usually for what he perceived as being arrogant, hypocritical, or otherwise insufferable. Although he may have had good intentions, he realized that calling out people did not necessarily benefit the MFGG community and usually derailed whatever threads he posted them in, and made a resolution to stop.
Cap'n Coconuts has a tendency to make blunt or satirical observations at times, which tends to set him at odds with other members.
Projects
- Mario's Marine Pop: The first game submitted to MFGG, it currently has a review score of 7.3 and was never finished. Despite overall positive reception, Cap'n Coconuts no longer likes the game.
- Super Mario Fusion: Revival: A group project with him and the Fusion Team, the founder of which being JudgeSpear.
- Luigi Land: the Bootleg Invasion: An entry to the second Minigame Competition of 2014. It is a short shoot-em-up that borrows heavily from the Gradius series. Due to the competition's time restraints, this fangame has only one level; Cap'n Coconuts has stated he wishes to make an unabridged version with the full story. It won a Game of the Month award in June 2014.
