Advance Wars Fad

The Advance Wars Fad of started in August 2005, the same month the New Advance Wars Duel Strike for the DS came out. It started out as a random topic(like all PPP topics) by Bungalo stating:

3 COs on the same side (allies and stuff, yo)
Are the names of me and 2 of my closest buddies.
Colin - me
Andy - Aranthur aka Andy
and
Max - French for Dave"

Little did Bungalo know that his AW topic would start a fad, MFGGers started getting avatars of themselves in AW Style. Among the most active posters were Bungalo(who created the topic), Bidhood, and Kommandant Dragmire(who even made a separate Topic for AW avatar requests). The fad didn't last as long as the others, This one only lasted 26 pages, but the topic will be remembered by those it had impacted, Avi, female member at MFGG still has still kept AW sprite as an avatar up to this point(11-09-05). The topic was eventually Bumped by Kommandant Dragmire hoping that it would be revived after 2 months since last post.. he failed.

A few months or so forward, Web linked Ryo to a site that enabled Advance Wars online using javascript coding. Ryo posted this, which heated up the AW fad a little longer, but it was short-lived.

Later, on March 10, 2006, Dragmire edited an AWDS sprite to look like him,hoping it would spark another AW fad. Some were impressed, others weren't. Dragmire and Lee are the main participators in the fad, since others seem not to care.
