LooneyTunerIan or Ian for short, is an MFGGer who joined on May 2, 2009. He is infamous for requesting sprite sheets to indirectly contribute content to MFGG. After being muted on the main site, LooneyTunerIan vowed that even though he'll continue submitting sprite sheets to the main site, he would leave negative comments within the descriptions or in the sprite sheets themselves. Due to the hate stamp Ian had made, it is likely that his account will never be unmuted.

Member History
LooneyTunerIan first joined the main site on May 2, 2009. Over the years, he has made many requests for new sprite sheets or additions to already uploaded sheets. Why he frequently asked for these sprites is unknown, as there is zero evidence of him using anything he requested. Nonetheless, the frequent gratuitous requests for sprites were an annoyance to many mainsite users. This behavior apparently continued for years, opposed only by few disgruntled members.

On September 2015, an argument broke out in the comments for Mario RPG Series 8-Bit Sprites between LooneyTunerIan and Somari64. LooneyTunerIan refused to stop making gratuitous requests unless the rules explicitly included circumstances in which he could not. While he fully understood the letter of the law, Ian had no appreciation for the spirit behind it. This, in addition to unnecessarily bashing the sprite sheet, may be the cause of him being muted on the mainsite.

A Foiled Mute Evasion
On September 10, Ian created a duplicate account named DukeyDukeyDoo to evade his mute. On October 1, this account requested a Super Mario Maker section for sprites in an update post, raising red flags for a few members. VinnyVideo inspected the account and discovered that not only was it a dupe, but that both accounts had the same e-mail address. The dupe was quickly banned.

Noticing that his dupe account was banned and that he was being called out for having one, Ian stormed into the forums, still defiant regarding the rules. He then threatened to submit sprite sheets, not having "anything nice to say at all" in their descriptions. As all submissions are inspected by the site staff before being seen by all other users, this immature and poorly thought out plot was bound to fail. According to VinnyVideo, he followed through with this threat--proclaiming "MFGG STINKS!" in a sprite submission (which may have been rejected).

Wiki Activity
In the days following his dupe account's ban, Ian became active on the wiki, editing pages related to him to insinuate that MFGG was at fault for everything that had happened to him. He also blanked his user page redirect, replacing it with a demand to "leave his profile alone". During this time, he also uploaded an animated GIF expressing his hatred for MFGG, unwittingly starting a new fad. Taking into account his previous immaturity, VinnyVideo blocked him from making edits to the wiki for three months, making him the first non-spambot account VinnyVideo has ever blocked.

deviantART Journal Entry
On January 2016, LooneyTunerIan's block was lifted, but he later wrote a journal entry on his deviantART account, stating that he was done with MFGG and sprite ripping altogether.

This behavior apparently continued for years, opposed only by a disgruntled member or two.

Taking into account his previous immaturity, VinnyVideo blocked him from making edits to the wiki for three months, granting him the dubious honor of being the first non-spambot account VinnyVideo has ever blocked.

A request is an artistic plea for the creation of a Sprite Sheet, rip or tileset. A request can either be directed at a specific artist or a community audience, which sometimes effectively creates an art collaboration.

A request is different from a commission in that a commission is charged. A person who commissions an artist expects them to create the work within an agreed time frame. In addition to the monetary payment, a commissioned artist often gets usage rights to the work. In contrast, a request is made with no expectation of payment.

Request Topics
Request topics are topics in which an artist may offer to draw other members in pursuit of inspiration and attention. More often than not these topics die quickly as a result of the number of requests. These topics flooded the Arts Board for quite some time before a sub-forum was created for the purpose of requests. To the aid of flood prevention was the General Friendliness topic as well. However it was far less effective because artists didn't want to put up with sorting through such a lengthy topic for requests and made their own.

Complaints have circulated against request topics time and time again because of the attention they drew away from other artists who didn't offer to draw the members. Unless they were offered to be drawn, members did seem to ignore the topics. And if they were offered to be drawn, that's all they posted in the topic for. Many artists frustrated that there were more requests than comments and criticism ended their request topics abruptly.

Thanks to the sub-forum, the requests were separated from general artwork and aided in preventing floods that pushed art topics off the page before they were due. And ever since then Request Topics have been ceased to exist.

Controversy
Several members were known to make an exceptionally large amount of requests within a relatively short time-span, which consistently resulted in mass frustration among other MFGGers. The repeated offense of this by such members as LooneyTunerIan and Asdfghjk resulted in a universal short tolerance of the act being accepted. It has been suggested that official policies be instated regarding requests, however no official policies have been put in place regarding this as of yet.
I am against MFGG, also known as The MFGG Hate Stamp or The Anti-MFGG Stamp, , is a fad which was inadvertently started by LooneyTunerIan and VinnyVideo. The fad was started when LooneyTunerIan uploaded an animated GIF to the MFGG Wiki showing the MFGG banner, crossed out, followed by text reading: "I am against MFGG". The image may have been uploaded in response to being caught evading a mute on the mainsite. The image was removed from the wiki by VinnyVideo, but was discovered by other MFGGers and shared in an unofficial Skype chat before it was deleted.

Following this, MFGGers decided to add the image to their signatures, using the stamp ironically. LuigiM9 was probably the first to do this, followed by several others. Some staff members also added the image to their signatures, including VinnyVideo himself. Meanwhile, Cap'n Coconuts created a forum game to parody users with poor reasons to hold grudges against MFGG. It would seem that everyone is making fun of LooneyTunerIan just because he was muted and has grudges against the site for certain reasons.
LooneyTunerIan or Ian for short, is a MFGGer who first joined on May 2, 2009. He is infamous for requesting sprite sheets to indirectly contribute content to MFGG. After being muted on the main site, Ian vowed that even thought he'll continue submitting his sprite sheets and rips to the site, he'll leave some kind of negative comment within the descriptions or in the sprite sheets and rips.

It has been suggested that official policies be instated regarding requests, but no one has given it much thought so far.

An MFGGer (or a Mario Fan Games Galaxy member) is a person that is a member of Mario Fan Games Galaxy (though it usually refers specifically to active members). The term, however, is technically grammatically incorrect; it literally means Mario Fan Games Galaxyer. The more correct term would be MFGer (Mario Fan Gamer), something that was suggested long ago on the Ezboard forums, but the term MFGGer is generally considered catchier and easier to remember, and has thus stuck around since the beginning of MFGG.

Member Type
Regular Members
Ordinary MFGGers are able to post normally without any restrictions, however they cannot view secret forums such as Forum 12, Forum 27 or Forum 29. They also cannot access the "Casual" forums (CCC and General Friendliness). They lack privileges such as locking (but they can pre-lock a poll before posting it) and unlocking topics, and are confined to a post flood limit. This type, by far, comprises most of the MFGG memberbase.

Casual Members
Ordinary active members are quickly upgraded to Casual Member status after 250 posts are made and a Happy Heart Badge are obtained. Casual Members are able to post in the CCC and General Friendliness forums. Casual Members were abolished in June 12, 2009, in favor of a Trial Member system.

The system is no longer used in MFGG 3.0 as of today.

Muted Members
Banned members
Banned members are the ones who have been permanently and indefinitely banned, or perma-banned, from MFGG. Banned members usually include trolls, rule-breakers, and spambots.

In the communities of sprite ripping, custom sprite sheets and sprite art, a request is a request for the creation of a sprite sheet, BG Rip or even a custom made sprite sheet or tileset. A request can either be directed at a specific sprite artist, sprite ripper, or at anyone who happens to read it.

A request is different from a commission in that a commissioned work is paid for. A person who commissions an artist expects them to create the work within an agreed time and quality. In return for payment the commissioner also often gets the original work, and/or exclusive or non-exclusive usage rights.

A request, on the other hand, is made with no expectations or payments of any kind, but instead ask them for free, hoping that an artist will pick up their suggestion and share the finished work because they feel inspired to do it.

Problems with Requesting
Sometimes asking for requests to be made can lead to trouble. One member in particular, LooneyTunerIan, tried to request some things to be made. Which caused anger among other users. His requesting behavior led him to have his account to be muted.

Rules of Requesting
LooneyTunerIan once suggested having a set of rules about requesting something, but nobody seemed to take notice about it.
