Mario Minigame Mayhem is a compilation of four minigames made by Mario350, and is his only completed game to be shown on MFGG (all of his other games are in an currently unknown status and are showcased as demos).

Gameplay

Each minigame has a high-score table. When the minigame is over, and the conditions to advance to the next one are accomplished, the player is taken to the next minigame.

The Minigames

#1: Goomba Shooting

In the first game the player takes control of the protagonist Mario and has to shoot Goombas with lasers from a lasergun held in his hand. Shooting a Goomba earns Mario five points. Lasers are shot by pressing Ctrl, and you jump with Shift. Once a Goomba touches Mario, even if he jumps on it, the game is over and the player is advanced to the next minigame. The player can also move and jump but those moves are arbitrary since all you have to do in order to achieve a large score is shoot. The Goombas do not begin to appear until after thirteen seconds have passed, which lead many players to believe that the game had no content (as they would close the game before the Goombas appear).

#2: Shy Guy Dodging

The second game also involves Mario, with a Super Cape attached to his back, flying through the skies of the Mushroom Kingdom. The goal of this minigame is to avoid Shy Guys (who are attached to balloons) while collecting coins (each coin is worth 500 points). To advance to the third game, the player requires a fairly high score (however, it is impossible to reach that score if you do not collect at least two coins). There is no vertical boundary, so you can fly outside the screen. However, you will immediately lose if you do this.

#3: Fast Food Delivery

In the third minigame, Luigi is given the role of a fast-food serving waiter who has to serve the customers, and not eat on the job. He moves right automatically, and the player wins when he reaches the other side of the screen, without any user input necessary. Collecting Soda, French Fries, or Mushrooms grants you additional points. If you click on the hamburgers, a message box pops up reading, "You ate on the job! Your fired!" Otherwise, a message box pops up upon the end of the minigame reading, "Well served! Your hired."

#4: Pizza Delivery

The final installment in this compilation features Mario in the role of a pizza delivery man, who is delivering pizzas to an entire street of houses. He can attack Goombas by throwing pizza at them, but this is optional since the Goombas are completely harmless.

Ending & score table glitch

After the final minigame is completed, the player returns to the title screen and gets the chance to play again. Unfortunately, due to the game using Game Maker's standard highscore table, the scores of all games are saved on the same table, even if the score can differ greatly depending on how much the score of an individual minigame awards you.

Reception

Mario Minigame Mayhem has been received extraordinarily poorly. Many people voted it a 1/10 and Cap'n Coconuts rated it a -2/10, being the first member to give a game a negative score since Techokami. This led many members to attempt to give a game a rating below 1, and many of them succeeded. The site staff declined all reviews lower than 1 after Cap'n Coconuts's review in an effort to prevent this feature from getting abused. DJ Coco had the idea of rating this game a negative score even before Cap'n Coconuts showed up, but he failed to do so in time.

For April Fools 2013 however, with the permission of VinnyVideo, he rated this game a -128/10, even though he intended to vote a -350/10. The total score was temporarily down to below -18, but went back at 0.9. It is currently at 0.6, making it the only game on the mainsite with a total score below 1, thus having the lowest score of any game on the mainsite (and supposedly the mainsite's worst game). Many people question why the Quality Control had accepted this game.

Legacy

LSF Games had made a video review of it on Youtube. A small clip of this video is also in the intro he uses for his current videos. Supernova drew a dedication for this game. Ironically, it was much more well received than the game itself.

Remake

On January 12, 2017, Mors made a remake of the game, which is called Mario Minigame Mayhem HD. It features a higher resolution, smoother framerate, and an extra minigame, which involves Mario, who follows the mouse and must dodge Walruses that are bouncing around the screen. The minigame will just restart itself when finished, meaning that the player will have close and open the game again if they wished to start from the beginning.
